Description
We are offering a long-term contract in San Marcos, California, for an HR Generalist. As an HR Generalist, you will perform critical functions such as recruitment and hiring, employee onboarding, payroll processing, benefits administration, and managing workers' compensation and claims. You will also work on revamping the onboarding process and compliance, maintain employee records, and handle miscellaneous HR projects.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the recruitment process, including the review of resumes, participation in interviews, and initiation of offers to prospective hires.
• Facilitate employee onboarding by adding new hires to the HRIS system and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and maintained.
• Aid in payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for employees.
• Administer benefits packages to eligible employees, manage open enrollment periods, and ensure awareness of deadlines and options.
• File Workers' Compensation claims accurately and process unemployment claims as needed.
• Oversee administration of the 401k retirement plan and ensure compliance with plan regulations.
• Keep the master employee list updated and assist in maintaining client files as needed.
• Assist in the creation and updating of job descriptions and support the performance evaluation process.
• Manage and resolve employee relations issues, conduct thorough investigations, and provide performance management guidance to line management.
• Provide support and guidance to HR, management, and other staff for complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues.
Requirements
• Proven experience with Workday is required
• Familiarity with ADP is a plus
• 3 -5 years minimum experience
• Comprehensive knowledge in Benefit Functions
• Excellent Communication skills
• Strong understanding of Compliance in HR
• Experience in managing Employee Relations
• Familiarity with Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) regulations
