HR Generalist
Description We are seeking an experienced and resourceful HR Generalist to join our team in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of human resources expertise and deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the manufacturing environment. This role will play a critical part in ensuring smooth HR operations, fostering employee engagement, and supporting organizational goals through effective HR strategies. Key Responsibilities + Recruitment and Onboarding: Manage full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried positions, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new hires to ensure alignment with company culture and job expectations. + Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, providing guidance and conflict resolution to maintain a positive work environment. + Policy Administration: Enforce company policies, procedures, and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., OSHA, FMLA, ADA, and EEO). + Training and Development: Identify skill gaps and coordinate training programs to ensure workforce effectiveness. Support supervisors and managers with leadership development programs tailored to the manufacturing environment. + Performance Management: Oversee performance review processes by guiding managers and employees in goal setting, feedback, and improvement plans when necessary. + Payroll and Benefits Administration: Collaborate with Payroll and HR teams to ensure accurate timekeeping, payroll processing, and administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and PTO. + Safety and Compliance: Partner with the Safety team to promote workplace safety initiatives, monitor compliance with regulations (e.g., OSHA), and investigate any incidents or accidents. + Data Management: Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in HRIS systems and generate reports as needed to inform strategic decision-making. + Engagement and Retention: Develop and implement programs to boost employee engagement and morale, such as recognition initiatives, team-building events, and surveys. + Change Management: Support HR initiatives, company transformations, and cultural shifts, ensuring communication and smooth transitions for all employees. Requirements Qualifications + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus. + Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of HR generalist experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting. + Knowledge: Strong understanding of HR best practices, labor laws, and safety regulations specific to manufacturing. Skills: + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). + Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities. + Proficiency in HRIS (such as Workday or ADP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.). + Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
