HR Generalist
Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an HR Generalist in the non-profit sector, located in San Diego, California. The nature of this role centers on managing various human resources functions, with a specific focus on leave of absence (LOA) and disability accommodations. This role is based in an office setting. Responsibilities: • Oversee the process of leave of absence (LOA) requests, ensuring compliance with federal and California state laws. • Handle a high volume of current leaves, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks at once. • Coordinate disability accommodations, providing support and understanding to employees as needed. • Engage in complex and sensitive conversations with employees, demonstrating excellent communication skills. • Not primarily responsible for payroll or onboarding, but may assist as necessary. • Monitor and manage employee relations, ensuring a positive and compliant workplace environment. • Oversee benefits coordination, ensuring that all employees are informed of their benefits package and time off allowances. • Comply with all company and legal standards in all HR functions. Requirements • Possession of a minimum of 1 year experience in a HR Generalist role or similar position within the Non-Profit industry • Demonstrable expertise in Benefit Functions, including benefits administration and policy development • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate clear and effective interaction with team members and other stakeholders • Proven experience in Compliance, ensuring all HR policies and procedures adhere to local, state, and federal regulations • Strong skills in Employee Relations, capable of managing issues and fostering a positive work environment • Detailed knowledge and understanding of FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) requirements and procedures • Experience in Benefits Coordination, managing and maintaining employee benefits programs • Ability to manage Leave of Absence requests, ensuring all procedures are followed and records are accurately maintained.
