HR Generalist
**Summary:** Reports to and supports Human Resources Manager by handling daily HR tasks related to employee relations, performance management, culture improvement, compliance, and benefits administration. Expected to make recommendations on process improvement and efficiency. Maintain strict confidentiality. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** + Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns maintaining a consistent and approachable presence throughout the plant + Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement. + Mediate, investigate, and resolve conflicts, ensuring fair and respectful treatment of employees. + Guide employees through various benefits processes (FMLA, STD, LTD, etc.) + Support disciplinary processes through reviewing draft documentation, issuing when necessary, tracking, and monitoring disciplinary actions, as well as giving recommendations on level of discipline based on facts + Assist in the development and implementation of performance appraisal systems. + Provide coaching and support to managers and employees. + Maintain employee records and HR databases. + Assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of HR policies and procedures. + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. (ADA, ADEA, EEOC, NLRA, etc.) + Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs. + Facilitate workshops and training sessions on various HR topics. + Capable of influencing individuals and leaders across the organization + Capable of providing support to employees on different shifts (rotating, nights, split shifts). **Environmental, Health &** **Safety:** + Support the protection of the environment, personal safety, prevention of pollution and the continual improvement of the Environmental Management System. + Providing leadership to the HR team in preventing accident and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA/TCEQ standards. This includes: continuously monitor the workplace for hazardous environmental, health, and safety conditions. + Ensure environmental, health and safety hazards are corrected, eliminated or guarded as related to the HR team + Within scope of responsibilities assessing engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE on an on-going basis + Assisting in the investigation of accidents. + Having the authority to: Stop and prevent unsafe actions; stop the use of unsafe equipment and tools, stop work and/or have employees leave a work area + Ability to participate in investigation of near misses and other environmental/safety-related incidents that have occurred + Ensure that all department related incident reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner **Customer Requirements:** Must understand and comply with all applicable Customer Specific Requirements (SQAM) **Qualification Requirements:** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. **Education and Experience:** + Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. + 1+ years of experience in HR or related roles. + Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office Suite. + SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus. **Other Skills and Abilities:** Must be familiar with appropriate software programs (i.e. Workday, ADP) or similar programs. Duties also include assisting in the day-to-day management of the Environmental Management System.
