HR Generalist
Description We are in search of an HR Generalist to join our team in the construction industry located in Honolulu, Hawaii. As an HR Generalist, you will be integral in managing union relationships, ensuring compliance, and promoting cooperation between management and union representatives. Responsibilities • Facilitate communication as the primary contact for all union-related matters, addressing issues professionally and promptly. • Interpret and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, including handling grievances. • Offer guidance to management on matters related to labor laws, disciplinary actions, and workplace policies. • Assist in the preparation of reports and development of strategies for labor negotiations to foster productive discussions between the union and management. • Support various HR functions, such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management. • Conduct training sessions to enhance management understanding of labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and union relationships. • Stay informed on labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance and reduce risks. • Collaborate effectively with union representatives, employees, and management to maintain a positive work environment. • Utilize HR systems including ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode, Ceridian, and Dayforce for various HR tasks. • Manage Benefit Functions and ensure compliance with FMLA regulations. • Exhibit strong communication skills in all interactions. Requirements • Candidate must be open to individuals from the Construction/Contractor industry. • Position available: HR Generalist. • No minimum years of experience required, making it suitable for fresh graduates and entry-level applicants. • Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services is necessary to process and manage financial transactions effectively. • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is crucial for efficient workforce management. • Knowledge of ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode is essential for effective data transfer. • Proficiency in Ceridian software is important for efficient HR management. • Familiarity with Dayforce software is required for effective workforce management. • Understanding of Benefit Functions is necessary for managing employee benefits. • Strong communication skills are required for effective interpersonal relationships and information dissemination. • Compliance knowledge is vital to ensure the company operates within legal and ethical guidelines. • Good Employee Relations skills are necessary for managing and improving relationships between employees and employers. • Familiarity with FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) is necessary for managing employee leaves and absences.
