HR Generalist I
**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES** + Provide expertise, guidance and coaching to leaders in managing and resolving highly sensitive and complex employee relations matters for a large population of non-exempt employees. + Use data and metrics to analyze people issues and trends. + Consult with management on human resource-related issues. Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation. Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention. + Maintain an effective level of knowledge about the business unit and understanding of its goals, culture, and competition. + Work with managers to implement and advance initiatives related to employee engagement and employee development. + Participate in establishing plans to effectively communicate business strategies and objectives and implementing change initiatives designed to support those goals. Assess HR related needs and communicate needs proactively within HR and business management to develop integrated solutions. + Formulate partnerships across the HR function and with line management, and employees to support continuous improvement throughout business lines and HR operations. + Assist with projects support process improvement within the Human Resources department **PROBLEM SOLVING & DECISION MAKING** **:** + This individual will be expected to be a self-starter working under general supervision. + This individual will be accountable for making decisions appropriate for their position and level. + This individual has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach to other positions. + This individual will be expected to assess challenges and communicate solutions proactively. **Education and Experience** + Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of skills and training + 5 Years of Human Resources Experience and with a minimum of 2-4 years of related Employee Reations experience. + Demonstrates skills of successful resolution techniques for employee relations issues through partnership with clients. **Skills/Knowledge** + Experience managing high volume, non-exempt employee relations issues + Banking experience preferred + Experience with data analytics and metrics + The ability to collaborate with peers and clients and use influence in making business decisions to solve complex problems + The ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results + General knowledge of employment law + Experience managing projects + Strong analytical skills + Solid business insight + Strong verbal and written communication skills + Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel and HRIS systems + Bilingual Spanish speaking abilities preferred At Eastern Bank, we pride ourselves on supporting our employees by offering tremendous opportunity for individual growth.
