SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist will support the Senior Human Resources Manager in various HR functions at a high traffic distribution center. This role involves working closely with facility leadership to drive a positive and productive culture, improve employee engagement, and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR functions, excellent communication skills, and an initiative-taking approach to building relationships across departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist the Senior HR Manager in implementing HR programs, policies, and initiatives that support business objectives. Maintain accurate employee files and HR records, including documentation for audits and regulatory requirements ensuring records are always audit ready Support employee inquiries related to benefits, assist in open enrollment, and provide resources for employee with a variety of needs. Coordinate employee training sessions and development programs to enhance skillsets and job performance. Assist in onboarding new hires, ensuring a smooth and welcoming integration into the company. Support the performance management process by tracking completion of reviews, and ensuring employee records are updated and accurate. Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, assist with the conflict resolution process, and help to support workplace expectations. Use Excel to compile, analyze, and present HR data to inform strategic decisions. Oversee FMLA administration with our 3rd party, maintaining accurate records and ensuring adherence to policy. Keep payroll and benefits team updated with any attendance issues related to significant absences. Assist with post-accident testing process and follow up was necessary to ensure compliance. Monitor attendance points system, identifying patters and addressing issues proactively. Track and assist the team with DOT requirements for drivers to ensure compliance. Manage workers’ compensation claims, including communication with injured employees, accurate claims processing, and return-to-work programs. Conduct regular one-on-one chats with employees to address concerns, gather feedback, and provide guidance on HR policies by summarizing in formal presentations Create charts and graphs to analyze trends from employee chats, engagement surveys, and exit interviews, providing insight for continuous improvement. Chair the “SMART Team” and lead initiatives to improve employee engagement and satisfaction across the facility. Collaborate with leaders to create and sustain a culture that fosters respect, engagement, and accountability. Must be available to work all shifts as needed. Greet visitors and ensure workplace entry is safe. Generate purchase orders for various expenses and set up vendors as requested. Assists with the recruiting process to ensure qualified candidates are hired. Assist in onboarding new hires, ensuring a smooth and welcoming integration into the company. Meets all KPI’s and goals for HR. Performs a variety of administrative duties in all areas of Human Resources. Assembles and distributes information (i.e. training, benefits, company policies, and company events) to employees. Assists with other Human Resource duties, special projects and employee events. Ability to be cross-trained in all HR areas to provide support where needed.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist role, preferably in a warehouse or distribution setting. Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulatory requirements. Proficient in Microsoft Excel; ability to create and interpret data reports and analytics. Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills. Ability to oversee sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. Bi-lingual preferred.
