Position Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a business partner providing support in the following areas: employee relations, performance counseling, employee compensation and benefits, recruiting, personal and team development with minimum supervision.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Serves as a business partner providing guidance to managers in interpretation of company policies, procedures and programs consistent with McCormick’s philosophy and core values. Assists in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Fully participates in weekly staff meetings with the functions/locations. Partner with McCormick Employment Center and Business Partners to recruit, conduct interviews, and hire qualified candidates for non exempt and exempt positions Maintains and expands knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting human resources management including unemployment and worker's compensation. Identifies trends that could impact organizational objectives and/or operational resources. Interprets appropriate laws and policies and advises managers and employees. Ensure effective performance management process, coaching staff and managers on compensation, annual reviews and work force planning. Assists managers in the identification of employee relations issues and potential causes, and the development of solutions. Responsibilities also include coordinating, and supporting project and process improvement teams, and participating in and/or supporting project teams. Provides support to the functions/locations for short-term and long-term planning using data driven analysis. Actively participates in the development of the OGSMs. Has responsibility for executing, communicating and translating organizational objectives and practices.

 

Required Qualifications:

BSc in Human Relations, Behavioral Sciences 2-4 years Generalist experience with strong coaching and employee relations. Proficient with Microsoft applications. Advanced skills in Excel. ERP or HRIS experience required. Ability to lead, participate and function effectively in collaborative, team environments and work independently. Knowledge of Employment Law and Best HR Practices Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and leadership skills Presentation ability and motivational speaking Ability to articulate and write in an analytical and persuasive manner. Interactions with employees at all levels - via coaching, employee relations issues, presentations, customer service Facilitation and presentation - As Needed Seasoned coaching and mentoring skills. Strong communication skills

PHR/SPHR Project Management Preferred

Base Salary: $62,090 - $108,600

 

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
