HR Generalist- Lutheran Hospital

Lutheran Health Network is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our team.

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the HR Director, facilitates identified strategies which align human capital with the organization’s short and long term objectives. Supports and promotes the mission, vision and purpose and ambition through the Human Resources department goals with the organization-wide goals and objectives. Supports the administration of human resource functions, including, recruitment and retention, employee relations, policy administration, processing of terminations, etc. Serves as a primary resource to team members for HR related questions and issues. Makes appropriate operational business decisions and continuously improves HR services. Responsible for compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards associated with Human Resources.

MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Registration/Certification/Licensure:
PHR, SHRM-CP or CHHR preferred

Experience:
Minimum of two years of experience in human resources functions preferred.  Healthcare experience preferred

Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration or related area.
*Education may be waived in lieu of direct experience in healthcare human resources of five years or  
 more

JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

1) Demonstrates ability and commitment to customer service, attention to detail, organization, analytical
     skills, multiple tasking and prioritization skills to promote overall effectiveness of Human Resources
      programs. Requires independent judgement and professional responsibility.

2) Demonstrates knowledge of state and local employment law and other government
     compliance regulations, including, FLSA, DOL, Wage & Hour, AAP, Vets-100, etc.

3)  Demonstrates working knowledge of general payroll and IRS regulations and guidelines.

4)  Requires knowledge of continuous quality improvement concepts and philosophy.

5)  Demonstrates leadership and group cohesion skills that promote teamwork and group achievement.

6)  Demonstrates working knowledge of the English language, verbal and written.

7)  Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills necessary to interact with all internal and
      external customers.

8)  Demonstrates computer skills and effective use of available software and systems.

9) Demonstrates organizational and analytical skill necessary to promote the overall effectiveness of
    Human Resources programs.
