The intern will contribute to a variety of HR project initiatives. The work schedule is flexible within normal business hours. The HR Intern will be provided with a free membership to the Metro YMCA along with access to our Employee Assistance Program, our Legal Assistance Program, and our Travel and Entertainment Discount program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: + Understands the overall mission of the Metro YMCA and the role of the HR Department in supporting that mission. + Begins to develop a current knowledge of HR Laws and Regulations. + Develops a working knowledge of HR information databases and searchable resources + Track progress, deadlines, and priorities of all projects + Ensure job boards are current with available job ads + Assist Generalists with the pre-employment processes + Track cost and effectiveness of media outlets for job postings + Post new positions on various websites + Review incoming resumes + Assist with sending out regret letters + Assist Generalists with the pre-employment processes + Track cost and effectiveness of media outlets for job postings + Post new positions on various websites + Review incoming resumes + Assist with sending out regret letters + Rotates through several core HR project functions and provides support and input to improve efficiencies and achieve project goals. + Accepts designated HR projects to work through to completion. + Engages with HR Team members and staff from various areas of the organization. + Provides input and suggestions related to project content. + Learns and becomes proficient on internal software systems. + Assists in creating a variety of reports. + Performs other duties as assigned.
