**POSITION DETAILS**

The **HR Investigations Director** is responsible for ensuring the timely resolution of complaints related to sex, race, and discrimination. This role investigates sex-based misconduct, sexual harassment, retaliation, and discrimination complaints, and supports compliance efforts with federal, state, and city laws, including but not limited to Title VI, Title VII, and Title IX.
This position also assists with outreach efforts, conducts case intakes, and leads impartial investigations into complaints filed with the ODCEI. The **HR Investigations Director** prepares detailed, unbiased reports that may lead to disciplinary action or formal proceedings within Baruch College and CUNY.
As a senior administrator in the Office of Legal Affairs and Labor Relations and Compliance, the **HR Investigations Director** will work closely with the Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, ECDO and HRD, engaging with students, faculty, and staff to promote an inclusive environment. This role will also contribute to DEI awareness programs and participate in professional development opportunities available to CUNY professionals.
**In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the key responsibilities for the role include:**
Reporting to the AVP and Chief Legal/Labor/Compliance Counsel and working closely with the Office of Student Affairs and Human Resources, and other campus partners, the **HR Investigations Director** will:
+ Lead investigations into Title IX complaints and complaints of sexual harassment involving faculty, students, and staff, and ensure adherence to Baruch College’s Non-Discrimination Policy.
+ Develop investigation plans, gather evidence, and provide updates to involved parties.
+ Conduct intake meetings, interviews, and the investigation of complaints, ensuring a fair and neutral process.
+ Investigate and respond to complaints of Title IX and sexual harassment complaints, sex-based discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct.
+ Serve as the primary liaison during investigations, overseeing hearings under CUNY’s Policy on Sex-Based Misconduct.
+ Address sex-based discrimination, including gender identity, gender discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, sex characteristics, stereotypes, and sexual orientation.
+ Act as a campus-wide resource and expert on gender discrimination and Title IX.
+ Implement CUNY’s Policy on Sex-Based Misconduct and Policy on Equal Opportunity and Non-Discrimination.
+ Facilitate training on Title IX and sex-based discrimination; Organize educational workshops on Title IX, EEO issues, policies, and procedures.
+ Work with the ECDO and Diversity Specialist on Title IX matters, sexual harassment prevention, and compliance initiatives.
+ Write comprehensive reports for AVP Legal/Labor Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for the President’s review.
+ Serve on committees related to domestic violence, workplace violence, and campus safety initiatives.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor’s degree and eight years’ related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
+ Admission to the New York State Bar
+ Relevant experience in compliance, investigation, or legal fields
+ Current CUNY employees only
**CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW**
Conducts comprehensive investigations of human resources concerns and complaints and assures issues are properly reported, answered and remediated.
- Conducts in-depth investigations and fact-finding interviews using appropriate action plans, investigation methods and interview techniques
- Writes investigative reports documenting methods, findings, evidence, conclusions and recommendations
- Manages a caseload of assigned investigations
- Develops, implements, and oversees multi-faceted training and related programs on effectively conducting and documenting investigations
- May conduct investigations in conjunction with a college or University-level office
- Performs related duties as assigned.

$132,987- $141,858; Salary commensurate with education and experience
