**What You'll Get To Do:**
The HR Leave and Accommodations Manager is responsible for overseeing leave administration within a corporate and manufacturing environment. This individual will ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations while collaborating with key internal stakeholders, third-party administrators, payroll teams, and government agencies. This position requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to manage and develop a leave administration team. The HR Leave and Accommodations Manager will also perform audits, implement process improvements, and review and update leave policies to ensure efficiency and compliance.
**Employee Services & Administration:**
+ Oversee and manage all leave types, including FMLA, ADA, PWFA, state-paid family leaves, parental leave, disability, and personal leaves.
+ Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
+ Collaborate with HR, managers, and third-party vendors to ensure a seamless leave experience for employees.
+ Lead the execution of leave programs in partnership with external vendors.
+ Collaborate with Legal to maintain compliant policies and protections.
+ Lead and mentor the Leave team to support leave strategies and improve performance.
**Accommodation Coordination:**
+ Coordinate accommodation requests under ADA and other applicable laws, working with employees, HR, managers, and external vendors to identify reasonable accommodations.
+ Maintain detailed documentation of all accommodation requests and outcomes.
**Compliance and Documentation:**
+ Stay current on federal, state, and local leave and accommodation laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, state-specific laws).
+ Ensure accurate tracking of leave data and related payments, when applicable.
+ Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with HIPAA and other legal requirements.
+ Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports for various stakeholders.
+ Conduct monthly audits to verify accuracy and compliance of leave data.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency through system optimization and streamlined procedures.
**Collaboration with Payroll and HR Business Partners:**
+ Ensure accurate tracking of leave-related pay, benefits, and state reimbursements with payroll teams.
+ Advise HR Business Partners (HRBPs) on leave trends and workforce planning solutions.
**Employee Support and Communication:**
+ Serve as a key resource for employees, providing clear guidance on leave and accommodation policies.
+ Develop and deliver training materials for employees and managers to improve understanding of leave procedures and policies.
+ Maintain HR system procedures, user guides, and FAQs to enhance accessibility and clarity.
**Team Leadership and Development:**
+ Screen and interview candidates for the Leaves and Accommodation team.
+ Provide ongoing training and coaching to new and existing team members.
+ Offer guidance on leave processes and conflict resolution.
**Additional Responsibilities:**
+ Foster collaboration across multiple functions and teams to resolve leave-related issues.
+ Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external customer inquiries.
+ Continuously seek ways to improve processes, ensuring high-quality standards and efficient operations.
+ Maintain adherence to company policies and all applicable laws.
**Qualifications**
**What You'll Bring**
**Education:**
+ Preferred: bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent work experience
**Experience:**
+ 7+ years of experience in leave of absence and/or disability claim management.
+ At least 3 years of experience managing a team of employees.
+ In-depth knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and other state-specific leave laws.
**Skills & Competencies:**
+ Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
+ Knowledge of HIPAA policy and confidentiality requirements.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred).
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent process improvement experience.
+ Experience with Workday or similar HRIS systems.
+ SPHR, PHR, or CPDM certification is a plus.
