Wärtsilä North America is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join our team. If you want to join a global organization with opportunities for continued development, this may be your role.
 
As an HR Manager on the North America People Services team, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and productive work environment for our Line Managers and employees in the US and our growing projects in the Caribbean and Guyana. You will work closely with Line Managers to implement and enhance HR strategies that align with the company's business priorities and support the Employee Life Cycle activities.
 
This position reports to the Head of People Services, North America, and is a hybrid office role based in our Fort Lauderdale, FL office. Candidates must be able to commute to Fort Lauderdale 3 times pers week. 
 
Main Responsibilities:

Support & coach Line Managers to drive team performance. Communicate and collaborate with other country HR colleagues when needed. Consult with Line Managers about organizational change management. Support Line Managers with employee engagement action planning via annual employee surveys and bi-annual pulse surveys. Increase employee engagement and build a culture of fairness, diversity, and inclusion (wellbeing). Participate in relevant business management teams and collaborate with relevant Business HR to address business-specific initiatives. Talent Acquisition: Oversee the new hire onboarding process in partnership with our Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers, ensuring the acquisition of top-tier talent to support company objectives. Employee Relations: Act as a point of contact for employee relations, providing guidance and resolution for workplace issues. Foster a positive and inclusive work culture. Partner with line managers on employee relations actions, including employee investigations, employee engagement, discipline, and terminations. Performance Management: Facilitate the global performance and rewards objectives and annual processes in the country and guide managers and employees through these processes. Compensation and Benefits: Collaborate with HR management to review and update compensation and benefits programs to remain competitive and aligned with industry standards; act as the focal point for in-country benefits and manage HR external vendors. Facilitate the global compensation and benefits annual processes in the country and guide managers and employees through these processes. Compliance and Policy: Knowledgeable with country compliance. Ensure all HR policies and procedures remain updated, including the country HR Handbook. Labor Law: Keep abreast of the legal environment and Labor law updates, educating management and employees as appropriate, and advising management on needed actions. Together with the team, contribute to the continuous development of the Region and Global ways of working, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for automation & digitalization. Regular collaboration with the different HR Teams, e.g. Talent Acquisition Services, Rewarding, HR Information Systems, among others, and with local HR Teams within your Region. Actively engage and participate as a member of the Americas People Services HR team.

The below will enable you to be successful in this role:

Excellent communication skills, able to work effectively within a team and deliver services based on cultural sensitivity. Natural ability to collaborate successfully with others, seeking opportunities for improvement and optimization. Relevant higher education qualification e.g. Business Administration or Human Resources or equivalently qualified by experience. Minimum 8 years of HR experience Fluency in English both written and verbal. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required.

 
 
Travel Requirements:
This position requires a 20% travel commitment, encompassing both domestic and international, including onshore and offshore locations. The role demands adaptability to varying travel demands, with an expectation of extended periods away from the primary work location. Prospective candidates should be prepared to fulfill these travel obligations as an integral aspect of the position's responsibilities.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.  Eligibility to participate in: the discretionary incentive plan assigned to the level of position upon offer of employment; medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms; Company-paid benefits such as life insurance, short- and long-term disability, subject to applicable waiting periods.  Paid time off (PTO) is accrued on a per-pay period basis in accordance with tenure in the Company; a new hire can expect 17 days per year. Twelve (12) Company-paid holidays.
