Our client is seeking a Human Resources Manager based in Calgary to oversee HR functions and collaborate closely with the HR Business Partner and Labour Relations team. Reporting to the Area Director, the HR Manager will be responsible for:
Responsibilities:Partnering with the Labour Relations team to resolve issues with union partners.Coordinating appeals, grievances, arbitrations, harassment cases, and human rights claim processes.Conducting investigations and managing the employee discipline process.Coaching, advising, and training employees on labour relations topics, including performance management, employee concerns, and collective agreement interpretation.Assisting in the recruitment of administrative and supervisory roles as requested by the Area Director.Collaborating with management to develop succession plans.Managing Workers’ Compensation claims documentation.Supervising and managing a team of four direct reports.Performing additional tasks as required.Qualifications:A post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.A minimum of five years of HR experience, including at least three years in a Labour Relations role.CPHR designation is considered an asset.Previous experience in supervisory and leadership roles.Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
