HR Manager
Job Title: HR Manager Job Description We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Human Resource Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of California labor laws, union requirements, and HR best practices, along with the ability to manage a variety of HR functions within a growing company. This role will be instrumental in enhancing our HR policies and practices to ensure compliance, optimize employee satisfaction, and support business growth. Responsibilities + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including California-specific regulations (e.g., wage and hour laws, meal breaks, etc.). + Stay updated on changes in labor laws and make necessary adjustments to company policies and practices. + Provide guidance and support to management and staff on labor law and union requirements. + Work closely with union representatives and management to ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs). + Review and help restructure employee benefits programs, including vacation, holiday policies, and 401k offerings. + Work with leadership to enhance bonus structures and performance-based incentives that align with company objectives. + Ensure policies are clear, compliant, and aligned with company goals. + Oversee recruitment efforts to fill open positions, including posting job openings, conducting interviews, and facilitating hiring decisions. + Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they have a smooth and engaging start with the company. + Coordinate training sessions and provide new employees with essential tools and resources for success. + Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and provide guidance on performance-related issues. + Assist managers in developing employee growth strategies. + Assist managers with performance evaluations and the development of performance improvement plans (PIPs). + Foster a positive workplace culture through open communication and proactive team-building events. + Serve as a bilingual resource for communication, ensuring all HR materials and communications are accessible to employees who speak multiple languages (Spanish preferred). Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. + HR certification required. + Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience, with a strong focus on labor laws, union relations, and employee benefits. + In-depth knowledge of California labor laws and HR best practices. + Proven experience in policy development, compliance, and employee relations. + Experience in structuring and managing employee benefits, including holidays, vacation, 401k, and bonuses. + Bilingual (Spanish preferred). + Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels. + Detail-oriented with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. + Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
