As The Human Resources Manager will work closely with corporate to lead all HRs practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented high performance culture emphasizing quality, productivity, goal attainment and empowerment. This position is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources including staff scheduling related paperwork, employee grievance and complaint management, training, disciplinary action and working closely with corporate HR, Recruiting, and EEX Team leadership to develop programs and policies. In this role you will work closely with colleagues to ensure all HR duties are undertaken in accordance with Alaska employment law, company policy and ensuring any risk to the business is minimized.
As a key member of the plant management team this role provides sound advice and coaching to department managers on all HR related areas that impact the plant. During the off season, you will be expected to participate in Corporate HR projects.
Essential Functions/Qualifications
The responsibilities of the position include the following:
Establish and maintain employment practices and procedures in accordance with plant and corporate guidelines and in compliance with all local, state and federal employment laws including EEOC, ADA, Civil Rights Act, and any applicable Affirmative Action Plans.Plan and participate in performance management activities such as disciplinary reviews, terminations, standard employee reviews and succession planning. Documents appropriate information throughout the performance management process.Train staff on topics such as performance reviews, discrimination/harassment, alcohol, and drug policy, and participate in orientation training to all employees.Provide proactive employee relations support including coaching, counseling, investigations, and dispute resolution. Responds to employee relations issues including employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints.Promote teamwork and interface with employees on continual basis. Coordinates employee special events such as cook-outs and other social events.Plan and participate in plant staffing planning and maintain regular communications and coordination with corporate TA Manager, the EEX Team, and the assigned Recruiter.Recommend and seek continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures and programs through coordination and consultation with Director of HR & VP of People.Respond to unemployment claims related to facility employees.Maintain facility level employee files.Other duties as assigned.Competencies

Travel to facilities in Alaska will be required during processing seasons. While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

The employee is frequently required to use interpersonal and teamwork skills. The employee needs to be able to discern details on timesheets and reconcile appropriate calculations. Salary Disclosure
The typical base pay range for this role is $60,000 -$80,000 per year. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
