The HR Manager will be a key member of the WestRock Consumer Packaging Human Resources team. Responsible for managing employee relations, communication, training and development, compensation, recruitment, staff planning, performance management, worker’s compensation, and all other HR functional areas.  Advise management and ensure adherence to company HR policies and procedures. Provide HR leadership, support and partnership with facility operations to achieve organizational goals. Implement corporate HR initiatives. Lead change management by improving processes and procedures and by supporting culture change initiatives.

Organization Design & Effectiveness - Consults with and advises management on organizational design that will enable the business to grow and operate effectively.   Proactively identifies organizational needs (talent assessment, team effectiveness, staffing, etc.) and develops strategies for resolving and addressing needs.   Talent Management / Employee Development - Assesses organizational capabilities and identifies gaps.  Actively supports management with the selection and on-boarding of talent.  Helps identify development opportunities for talent within the business and supports the creation of development action plans.   Drives and facilitates management team in HR planning, assessment and succession plan reviews.Compensation - Coordinates with the WestRock Compensation Team to administer job evaluations, salary ranges and annual merit review programs, using relevant market data as needed to maintain competitiveness.  Employee Relations - Analyzes employment-related concerns, patterns, and business needs to proactively develop and implement action plans to address continual issues.   Advises and coaches managers on building employee engagement and resolving employee issues by driving positive employee experiences.HR Compliance Support - Directs, recommends and proactively communicates corporate and local implementation of HR policies, practices, and initiatives.   Ensures legal and regulatory compliance, including equal employment opportunity/affirmative action, wage and hour, and work authorization.  HR Team Management - Leads and develops a team of 1 to achieve performance excellence.  Implement initiatives that drive organizational and functional effectiveness while living the WestRock values.HR Operations - Fosters continuous improvement by analyzing processes, monitoring effectiveness, and identifying actions to reduce complexity and/or enhance operational performance. Utilizes data to drive business and people decisions and ensure accurate recordkeeping/data integrity is maintained.  Company Culture - In concert with management, builds and drives a positive employee culture. Champions DIE&B goals, strategies and plans.  Actively participates in Employee Communications. Also, coaches and influences a diverse set of stakeholders in creative ways.Change Management – Leads and influences complex and difficult change efforts while assisting stakeholders successfully navigate transitions.Business Partnership – Develops short and long-term actions that support the organization’s overall direction; balances people with business initiatives; incorporates knowledge of current strategies into strategic plans; capitalizes on opportunities and manages risk. What you need to succeed:

Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or a related Business degreeA minimum of 5 – 7+ years in a Human Resources business partner, generalist role operating in a fully integrated human resource organizationManufacturing and field/site experience partnering closely with leaders and teams across one or multiple sitesPHR/SPHR certification preferredBilingual Spanish/English beneficialStrong knowledge of state and federal employment law while understanding the connection to company policies and implicationsComputer proficient in Microsoft Office products with strong emphasis in Excel and Word, Outlook and HRIS software (PeopleSoft, Cornerstone, MS Teams, TMS etc.)Ability to investigate and assess employee conflicts objectively and solve such issues using a variety of methods and tools, including coaching and conflict resolutionEffective written and oral communication skills, including negotiation, persuasion, collaboration, and conflict resolution abilities Time management, project planning and organizational skills requiredMS Office and using technology with the aptitude to learn quickly and leverage these tools to operate more effectively, intermediate to advanced skills beneficialCollaborate with HR COE’s such as talent acquisition, talent management, total rewards, contact center and shared services, etc. in order to drive best in class solutions for our teams and businessesAbility and interest in developing a well-rounded understanding of financial and operational aspects of the business including market dynamics and trendsContinuous improvement and innovative approach Embrace and value enterprise thinking
