What You'll Do
The People Digital Product Portfolio is the largest & most dynamic product portfolio within BCG’s Digital Products Organization. We enable the global technology for BCG’s entire HR & People Function including Recruiting; Talent Management (Staffing, Mobility, & Career Development); L&D and Teaming; and Core HR (including Workday & Compensation). Over the past two years, the HR Product Portfolio has more than doubled in size, and there is more growth to come.
With this growth comes amazing new leadership opportunities, including the Product Owner for a new squad focused on delivering against our robust compensation and benefits data and analytics needs. This product owner role will be responsible for a new data product, the Rewards Data Product squad, and is a key component within our evolving data strategy. Initially, this role will be part of a larger HR transformation project to develop our compensation and benefits digital capabilities. Long-term this role will be part of a growing suite of data products, focused on enabling our HR functions. This role will ensure successful integration with systems like Workday and Benify, while driving insights and creating value for the organization’s compensation and benefits strategy.
As the Product Owner, you will represent the voice of the customer, manage stakeholder alignment, and oversee the squad's backlog to deliver impactful results. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Your responsibilities include:
Deliver business results and customer valueDrive incremental delivery of features for the Rewards Data Product, ensuring timely customer value creation.Monitor product performance metrics and adjust strategies based on insights.Prioritize impactful work to meet measurable Key Results for the squad.Manage the squad’s budget and collaborate with leadership on funding needs.Serve as the voice of the customer or end-userGather and translate user needs into actionable user stories for the Rewards Data Product.Engage stakeholders to align expectations and enhance trust.Conduct ongoing discovery activities to identify pain points and opportunities.Balance customer value, cost, and execution speed in decision-making.Set an overall vision to direct and inform the squad’s workBring a strong sense of ownership to the product squad and engage deeply in understanding the current and future needs of the function.Align squad activities with broader product and organizational goals.Translate objectives into a roadmap with clear goals for the Rewards Data Product squad.Foster collaboration with other Product Owners to ensure organizational alignment.Oversee what is delivered by the squad and whenApply design-thinking to understand system user engagement and solve problems effectively.Maintain a prioritized backlog of user stories with clear delivery timelines.Define acceptance criteria ensuring output meets business needs for the Rewards Data Product.Support and enable the squad to get its work doneCollaborate with the squad to remove impediments and clarify requirements.Partner with Chapter Leads for resourcing and technical expertise.Provide performance feedback to squad members and cross-functional team members.What You'll Bring
7+ years of experience as a Product Owner or in HR technology/product delivery roles.Expertise in compensation and benefits processes, with strong familiarity with Workday and benefits systems (Benify is a plus).Experience in managing data-driven HR products and analytics solutions, including the Rewards Data Product.Knowledge of integration points with systems like Workday, including API and data ingestion workflows.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly with HR leadership.Agile product management expertise, with proven experience in leading Agile teams.A data-driven mindset, leveraging insights for strategic decision-making.Experience in consulting or HRIS configuration (e.g., Workday, and custom developed applications) is a plus.Who You'll Work With
