HR Risk & Controls Associate

Position Overview:
Do you enjoy critical thinking, problem solving, interacting, and collaborating with personnel across departments and divisions? The Human Resources (HR) Risk Management Team is seeking a Risk and Controls Associate II. The Risk and Controls Associate II is part of the 1st Line of Defense (LOD) within the Human Resources Division at Freddie Mac.  The team is responsible for implementing the Corporate Enterprise Risk Management Framework. 

Responsibilities include identifying, analyzing, and reporting on operational risks, as well as collaborating with the Three Lines of Defense and management across the company. In this role, operational risks include SOX, data privacy, third party, financial crimes, technology, information security, business continuity, laws/regulations, and people. 

Our Impact:
Human Resources Risk Management is responsible for establishing governance over operational risk and compliance management for the Human Resources division.  This includes identifying, measuring, analyzing, and reporting on operational and compliance risks as well as collaborating with the Three Lines of Defense and divisions across the enterprise.

Your Impact:
In this role, you will be an integral part of the team and will be expected to:

Support risk assessments of business processes by drafting risks and controls as well as demonstrate understanding of HR business processes supported. Perform control testing procedures and sufficiently document testing as well as identify and document any testing exceptions Aid in the change management of policy and standards adoption, gap assessments, and requests from external customers Proactively monitor the enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tool for data anomalies related to HR risk and control information.  Work across the team and engage with HR process owners to correct anomalies Support monthly reporting to the Divisional Risk Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) on all matters related to operational and compliance risk for the division Undertake ad-hoc projects as needed Engage Business Area, Lines of Defense Effectively connect with business area management Engage with 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defense, including Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Audit Present to management analysis over risks, controls, and projects Ability to develop relationships across the business and company Ability to negotiate and influence situations and people

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Risk Management, Business Administration, Economics or a related field 0 - 2 years related experience Proficient written, verbal communication and presentation skills Proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint Previous Big Four experience and/or professional certifications are advantageous but not required

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $64,000 - $96,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
