About the Position: This position located at Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Surrounding areas include Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach. Responsibilities Serve as coordinator with the Agency Commands for mobilizing Reserve Component Drill Sergeants. Conduct analysis of current strength problems with installations to develop recommended solutions. Conduct studies relative to drill sergeant student ratio and recommends systematic changes to improve output. Work directly with Agency staff to ensure military structure and personnel manpower remains adequate supporting Future Soldier and Professional Educational School training requirements. Conduct review of table of distribution and allowances (TDA) changes to determine annual MOS, grade, and ratio requirements, plans and provides actionable recommendations based on future TDA changes. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing military automated data systems such Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS) and Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army (IPPS-A) to manage the Drill Sergeant personnel actions; 2) Utilizing various automated systems to retrieve personnel data; 3) Utilizing automated systems to process orders within established procedures; and 4) Retrieve data that support military personnel programs such as the Enlisted Distribution Assignment System (EDAS) to process personnel actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Oral Communication Organizational Awareness Planning and Evaluating Problem Solving Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
