HR Specialist
Description We are on the hunt for a diligent HR Specialist to join our team in the non-profit sector, based in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, supporting our HR operations in a variety of tasks such as recruitment, onboarding, and administrative duties. Responsibilities: • Contribute to the recruitment process by advertising vacant positions, scheduling and conducting interviews, and presenting qualified candidates to supervisors for review. • Support onboarding activities by holding sessions with new hires, collecting necessary paperwork, and ensuring a smooth transition for new employees. • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity across human resources and payroll databases. • Respond to agency staffing needs appropriately by understanding the HR function and communicating effectively with departments and employees. • Assist in meeting agency human resources needs by collecting and understanding candidate and employee information. • Play a significant role in implementing interviewing and screening programs, including conducting background, reference, and employment verifications. • Utilize human resources software for efficient management of HR tasks. • Support in the recruitment for direct support professionals who will provide services to the intellectual and developmentally challenged community. • Participate in community outreach initiatives and contribute to the overall efficiency of the HR team. • Perform other HR administrative tasks as required, demonstrating skills in Human Resources (HR) Administration, Onboarding, and Recruiting Activities. Requirements • Demonstrated experience in Human Resources (HR) Administration • Proficiency in Human Resources software • Proven track record in successful onboarding processes • Experience in recruiting and recruiting activities • Comprehensive understanding of issues related to Intellectual Disabilities • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail • Demonstrated ability to work in a non-profit environment • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
