Job Description
We are seeking an experienced HR Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role involves managing compliance, assisting with onboarding, maintaining employee records, and documenting HR processes. You will also help implement new HR tools and reconcile various accounts. This position offers a hybrid work environment with opportunities to work closely with HR and Accounting Managers.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure regulatory and agency compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.Gain online access to all necessary compliance platforms.Resolve any compliance and reporting issues with agencies.Close certain PR-related State accounts, such as Withholding and Unemployment.Reconcile FSA accounts and CO refunds, as well as manage 401k accounts.Assist with onboarding new employees.Maintain and update employee records, including salary and address changes.Document internal PR processes and procedures.Research and assist in the implementation of new HR tools.Essential SkillsProven experience as an HR Payroll Assistant, HR Clerk, HR Coordinator, or similar role.Experience with Payroll/HRIS systems, preferably including BambooHR.Strong understanding of HR functions, primarily payroll and benefits.Knowledge of labor laws and multi-state filings is a plus.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.High ethical standards and reliability.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with administrative support, data entry, account reconciliation, and HR administration.Familiarity with compliance tasks, onboarding processes, and benefits management.Ability to document processes and assist in creating plans for new tools and procedures.Knowledge of BambooHR, FMLA, and FSA is preferred.Work Environment
This role offers a hybrid work schedule, with three days remote and two days in the office after training. Ideally, you will be in the office on Mondays and Wednesdays, but there is some flexibility. This is a highly autonomous position that requires initiative and the ability to work independently without much hand-holding. You will work in a small, start-up feeling environment, gaining valuable experience in bringing in new software and automating payroll processes.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.00
