HR Specialist
Description Assist in the development, administration and enforcement of Human Resources policies and programs. Responsible for hourly plant staffing and recruitment, wage administration, On-boarding orientation, training and development, employee engagement and legal compliance. Facilitate communication at and through all levels of the organization. Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Human Resources Department to effectively meet the goals of the company. Key Functions and Accountabilities: Provide leadership for positive employee relations: • Administer employee guidelines/policies per terms of the employee guidebook. • Walk the floor on a regular basis on all shifts to solicit input, answer questions. • Assists with employee activities that foster a meaningful connection to the company and to further enhance working relationships (i.e. United Way campaigns, luncheons, picnics, giveaways). • Provide HR Manager with updates on employee morale and issues. • Coordinate the drug testing program (random and for cause). Maintain employee records, wage and benefit programs: • Maintain accurate files for HR date input and record keeping. • Administer annual wage increase. • Administer quarterly incentive programs. • Administer weekly payroll for plant/office personnel. • Refer ad-hoc benefits questions and needs to Shared Services staff or appropriate insurance carriers. • Compose memos, forms, letters, reports, communications etc. as needed. Qualifications 1. 2+ years of HR experience (generalist realm) 2. Employee Relations, Payroll, Employee Engagement, Employment Law, and Personnel admin practices 3. Canva / Microsoft Applications Nice to Have: 1. Bilingual in Spanish and English 2. Union & Manufacturing Experience Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
