The McKesson HR Strategy & Governance Team is seeking a Product Manager to lead HR strategic initiatives. A successful candidate will enjoy partnering with a wide range of stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Product Manager will play a vital role in partnering with business leaders to deliver new and improved products and services that enable our long-term strategic priorities.  

 

What You'll Do 

 

As a Product Manager, your daily focus may shift with business needs, but here’s a snapshot of what to expect: 

Leads or supports multiple HR strategic products and initiatives.  Examples include coordinating and organizing design & development, supporting implementation/ execution, and monitoring and reporting on project/program status and health 

Utilizes Voice of Customer and competitive assessments to inform the creation of product plans and roadmaps 

Synthesizes and makes proactive recommendations to the Business Lead regarding product direction based on industry and market research performed 

Designs roadmap and monitors performance against roadmap.  Develops plans for corrective action when needed  

Makes effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project  

In collaboration with cross-functional teams, makes recommendations to assess product needs, author requirements, and implements solutions (driving for impact) Defines and communicates the “why” of product/process directions, recommendations, and business needs to the broader team and encourages engagement and creativity across the team, understanding when to take action, engage, and adjust 

Coordinates product launches, including pilots or beta testing, user documentation, communications plan and marketing material input to ensure successful rollout 

Prioritizes within own responsibility set when there are conflicting Product Management initiatives and raises conflicts to and participates in the de-conflicting process with leaders 

Assists in the sustainment of effective governance processes and protocols for the HR Leadership Team  

 

Skills You’ll Need 

Strategic mindset and execution.  Ability to translate strategy and directional concepts into planful tactics to realize a future state and an ability to know when to be firm on plans and when to flex. Product Management skills and experience with product development methodologies (e.g., Agile) 

Strong organizational skills, solution-oriented mindset, and attention to detail to execute against multiple goals at once with minimal direction   

Influencing and collaboration.  Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams; including the competency to succinctly present complex ideas and communicate to an executive audience and tailor communication style to work well with stakeholders at all levels in the organization to influence people 

Visioning, innovation and strategic thinking: raises the bar and push for new and innovative solutions, challenging others to also translate creative ideas into concrete action-plans.  

Business insight and organizational savvy. An ability to navigate the complex organizational structure of McKesson and influence without authority. Ability to build trusted partnerships to deliver shared objectives with others cross-functionally across various teams & levels and establishing trusted, positive relationships   

Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability. Willingness to probe into various business scenarios, interpret internal or external issues and recommend solutions based on best practices  

High proficiency with Microsoft applications  

 

Preferred Skills 

Experience with frontline workforce scheduling implementation tools, and technology. 

Familiarity with Distribution Center procedures and practices, workforce management 

Experience with technology and automation solutions 

Financial acumen, with the ability to create and articulate business cases and return on investment scenarios. Responsible for strategic financial planning as well as tactical budget management.  

Proven ability to successfully partner and lead external vendor, including evaluation of critical milestones to progress work. 

 

Experience & Education 

Typically requires 3+ years Human Resources experience; 4+ years of Product Management or relevant experience; 2+ years direct budget and finance experience  

A bachelor’s degree is required.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$105,200 - $175,300
