The HR Specialist is responsible for overseeing time tracking, managing compensation processes, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. This role involves supervising the timekeeping team to ensure accurate processing of employee time records and reporting. The HR Specialist assists with calculating wage increases, performance bonuses, and promotions, and maintains payroll records. They assist in developing compensation plans, conducting market research, and supporting the performance appraisal process. Additionally, the HR Specialist partners with the HR Systems Analyst to manage the HR Information System and ensures compliance with labor laws and regulations.
Role ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties & Responsibilities:
Time Tracking & Auditing:Ensure daily audits and reconciliation of timecard discrepancies are completed accurately and consistently in accordance with Timekeeping policies.Establish SOPs to standardize training and ensure best practices.Promote and sustain streamlined workflows to drive departmental efficiency.Collaborate with HR Systems Analyst to generate routine and ad hoc reports and assist in training users to enhance data utilization.Attendance points tracking, reporting and auditing.Oversee and assist with enhancements or updates to the timekeeping system, ensuring smooth transitions.
Compensation:Calculate bi-weekly hourly wage increases, monthly performance bonuses, hourly promotion wage increase and ensure timely submission for processing.Maintain payroll records and handle escalated payroll-related inquiries from employees.Assist in developing and enhancing compensation plans.Assist in conducting market research to ensure competitive compensation packages.Assist in creating and implementing compensation best practicesSupport the performance appraisal process, including data gathering and rollup for executive review.HRIS Management:Partner with HR Systems Analyst to oversee the HR Information System (HRIS) to ensure accurate and efficient data management between the timekeeping system and people system.Compliance:Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations.Stay updated on changes in employment laws and advise on necessary adjustments to HR policies and procedures. Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:
Proficiency in a wide range of software applications, including Excel and other computer programs.Workforce Management experience in a warehouse environmentKnowledge of compensation structures in a warehouse environment.Strong analytical, problem solving, teamwork and customer support skills.Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to interact effectively with end-users, peers and management while providing technical leadership as needed.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.High ethical standards, integrity, and adherence to confidentiality protocols.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk throughout a shift.Ability to climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods.Ability to reach, pull, push, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely, requiring coordinated movements.
