Graphic Packaging International has an immediate need for a Manager, HRBP supporting the company’s carton manufacturing plants located in Mitchell, SD. This position has overall responsibilities for developing, promoting, and implementing innovative HR solutions to meet business needs and increase organizational efficiency. This position is also responsible for providing direction and assistance with employment, salary administration, payroll, benefits, performance management, employee relations, employment law and workforce planning. Specifically, this role has responsibilities in the following job functions:

 

Areas of responsibility include:

Driving culture initiatives that focus on increasing employee engagement at all levels in the facility. Developing and implementing comprehensive development plans to support succession planning and bench strength. Developing comprehensive workforce planning strategies to support staffing and recruiting objectives for the hourly employee population. Promoting a strong relationship with community partners with a targeted goal of becoming an Employer of Choice. Providing employee relations counseling and problem solving for managers and employees to ensure a productive work environment, remaining consistent with company values and policies and in adherence to state and federal regulatory law. Counseling, advising, and training management on performance-based issues including corrective action plans, terminations, and severance agreements. Investigating and resolving employee issues. Translate strategic HR vision into actionable activities within the plant.

 

Staffing and Recruitment:

Manages the process for temporary staff utilized in the plant. Acts as the company liaison with the staffing agency. Has oversight and involvement in all hiring practices. Administers the hiring process for all employee groups. Partners with the training team to support the on-boarding process and integration of employees. Represent facility in unemployment claims process. Tracks and reports on headcount monthly for all departments.

 

Other Duties:

Manage direct reports for development projects and ongoing activities. Reports on Safety incidents, metrics and manages workers’ compensation claims. Manages the plant Performance Management process via Success factors system. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to Employment Law. Complies with and drives compliance with all HR and safety practices.

 

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources/related field Minimum 5-7 years of Human Resources Management experience required. Comfortable in key leadership role - able to partner with site Sr. leaders on decision making, operational planning and employee management. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated knowledge/experience of federal and state employment laws and other government compliance regulations. PHR or SPHR certification preferred. Computer Skills: HRIS Systems, MS Office, and database programs Minimal travel

 

Pay Range:   $96,480.00 - $128,610.00
