This position will be based out of Edmonton initially. However, the role is site-based, and the specific rotation schedule and project location will be determined based on project requirements. Flexibility to travel to and work at various project sites will be required

Essential Responsibilities
Conduct inspections of the work area and meet with field supervisors to discuss any potential problems: help to ensure the adequate supply of safety equipment, such as protective equipment, fire extinguishers, respirators, etcAdvise operations regarding Ledcor's Health and Safety Management System, based on a solid understanding of program execution throughout the project lifecycleMonitor compliance with jurisdictional regulatory requirementsAssists in the coordination and completion of safe work procedures, hazard assessments, safety inspections, focus audits and incident investigationsVerify compliance with leading and lagging indicators, including subcontractors as well as any identified corrective actionsConduct the HS&E Orientation to employees and subcontractors during project onboarding.Provide support to site leadership in the preparation of site-specific material for safety meetings and toolbox talksSupport the coordination, organization and delivery of project toolbox talks and safety meetingsDevelop and enhance Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practice documents based on existing materialsMonitor and report on the overall effectiveness of the overall implementation of project HS&E plansAudit the quality of the field level hazard assessments and incident investigation reports for accuracy and completenessQualifications
5+ years of related work experience in industrial construction, pipeline, oil & gas, or related industryMust hold a CRSP, Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, CSO or NCSO designationHas developed technical knowledge of common construction practices, techniques, and equipmentAbility to effectively communicate and present information to the hourly workforce, while also effectively interacting with project management staff, clients, and customersAbility to provide a proactive approach to safety, to include identification of operational and organizational issues, as well as develop and implement strategies to solve themDemonstrated experience in risk assessment, program development, safety & health training, and accident investigationCapable of adapting information/style to the audience, explaining difficult information clearly, influencing, and persuading others towards consensus agreement in straightforward situationsA strong team player attitude with the ability to effectively adjust to changing priorities and demandsStrong communication and presentation skillsStrong computer competency including experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelMust have and maintain a valid provincial driver’s license and driver's abstractSuccessful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirementsWork Conditions
