**39918BR** **Extended Job Title:** HSC Research Aide **Org Level 1:** Texas Tech Unv Hlth Sci Ctr El Paso **Position Description:** Performs specialized work in conducting original research. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. **Requisition ID:** 39918BR **Travel Required:** Up to 25% **Major/Essential Functions:** + Assists Director of SWBB with experiments, tissue quality measurements, interactions with ME and administrative duties to include maintaining performance reports, biosketches, statistics, grant development and submission. Employee will meet established deadlines. Paperwork will be done following University and Department policy and procedures. + Recruit, enroll, assess, and track participants as they complete protocols for various Psychiatry studies. Assist Research Director and PI in coordinating and performing a wide variety of research related functions including assessments, data collection, data entry, interpretation of data and data analysis, collecting blood and biological samples. Ensure established deadlines are met. Files will be in a locked cabinet and maintained in a neat, organized fashion in order for easy access of information to program director and other staff. Will follow all institutional and federal guidelines. Employee will have extensive communication with the research director to ensure smooth operation. Will follow institutional and departmental guidelines in the collection of blood and biological samples. + Responsible for assisting Director of SWBB conducting tissue quality and laboratory based molecular biology research. Employee must be detailed oriented, have excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize daily work to meet established deadlines. Employee will have extensive communication with the research director to ensure smooth operation. + Facilitates IRB application for submission and review. Will fill out all paperwork associated with the recruitment and registration of patients into research studies including protocol paperwork with in the institution. Other duties as assigned to include any research trainings. Employee will complete all necessary paperwork required within the established deadline. All paperwork must be kept in a neat and orderly fashion in order for easy access. Employee will follow all institutional and federal guidelines. + Assist in and oversee budgets for all faculty related research projects. Award review and set-up to facilitate appropriate long term management to include completing all associated forms. Employee will prioritize work to meet established deadlines. Monitor compliance with Sponsor's terms and condition and University's policies and procedures.
