Ferguson has an exciting opportunity for a HSE Hazmat and Environmental Compliance Programs Manager! This role will serve as the technical authority and strategic partner as it relates to controlling environmental and hazmat risk exposures and ensuring compliance with Federal, State and local regulatory requirements.

Location:

This is a Hybrid role based out of our Corporate Offices in Newport News, VA in accordance with the Ferguson Flex schedule; 3days office / 2 days remote. Consideration may be given to a remote candidate outside of the Hampton Roads area.

Responsibilities:

Provide guidance and technical leadership regarding applicable regulatory and company requirements regarding environmental compliance programs including but not limited to hazardous waste, stormwater, air emissions, environmental health issues, reporting, permitting, and management of hazardous materials and chemical products.

Develop criteria and monitor procedures to ensure adherence to the above as well as work with appropriate levels in the organization to develop and implement corrective actions.

Work with cross-functional data users to ensure data integrity and accuracy.

Lead state specific programs to ensure uniformity and compliance with pertinent regulations.

Develop new and improve existing, environmental compliance policy, programs and training in accordance with all relevant governmental agencies (chemical storage, chemical inventories, waste minimization, disposal/EPA ID #s, spill response, inspections and compliance issues, and permitting).

Ensure communication of policies, programs and delivery of training on a timely basis and to applicable locations.

Compose and submit required hazmat/chemical reporting for applicable locations and jurisdictions. This includes Tier II chemical reporting, hazardous waste reporting, HazMat business plans and annual chemical reporting etc.

Monitor and advise leadership of potential impacts related to changes in federal, state and local rules and regulations.

Establish protocols and lead response for environmental and hazardous material complaints, spills and releases.

Conduct site inspections as advised to ensure compliance and assess risk.

Supervise and work with consultants on relevant projects or reviews.

Attend and present when requested at critical meetings either within headquarters or in field locations.

Exercise discretion and independent judgment when collaborating closely or addressing issues with internal and external parties.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, coupled with a proven track record in program management and regulatory compliance.

Proven expertise of 5+ years in HSE or compliance management, with a keen understanding of regulatory frameworks and industry standards.

Knowledge in diverse training methodologies, including e-learning, virtual instruction, and traditional classroom settings.

Adept at vendor selection, negotiation, and performance management, with a keen eye for ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Exceptional project management skills, with ability to navigate complex initiatives while juggling multiple priorities with ease.

Stellar communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling you to foster strong relationships with internal team members and external partners alike.

HSE acumen to evaluate training efficiency and identify areas for improvement, coupled with a dedication to driving continuous learning and development.

Familiarity with training development tools and platforms, including the Microsoft Office Suite and other industry-standard software.

Professional certifications a plus.

Ability to travel (25% travel).

Pay Range:

$4,799.70 - $10,450.00

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
