Operations Manager - Southwest Die Cast

Your role and responsibilities

In this role you will have the opportunity to lead a team of HSE experts. Each day, you will make sure the team keeps developing capabilities and skills, supporting the business in the implementation of policies, practices and programs. You will also showcase your expertise by driving behavioral change and HSE learning within the organization.The work model for the role is: #LI - OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Motion NEMA Motors division in Fort Smith, AR. Main stakeholders are both our internal and external customers.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tSupporting line managers and supervisors in the organization in understanding obligations, liabilities and requirements•\tEnsuring appropriate tools and measures are in place and used effectively, at the same time reporting the HSE incidents.•\tReporting on HSE performance and progress with respect to the Group objectives•\tDrive behavioral change and ensuring HSE capabilities are optimized and aligned to standards and best practices

Qualifications for the role

Associate's Degree AND 10 years of experience in manufacturing and/or Health Safety & Environmental, or Bachelor’s Degree AND 8 years of experience in manufacturing and/or Health Safety & Environmental, or Master's Degree AND 6 years’ experience in manufacturing and/or Health Safety & Environmental.Bachelor’s Degree in Health Safety & Environment, Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.Minimum 10 years’ experience in manufacturing preferred.Strong knowledge in OSHA and ADEQ regulations.Understanding of Workers’ Compensation and Return to Work Programs.Strong understanding of electrical safety (including NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, etc.)Ability to read and interpret documents such as legal briefs, technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Managerial experience in manufacturing.Six sigma green belt or higher certification preferred.Experience with SAP and Microsoft Project preferred.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
