HSE Manager
ROLE STATEMENT: The HSE Manager will be a member of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Department responsible for leading and driving the execution of all components of the HSE strategy and Management System in a manner that continuously strengthens our HSE performance. Reporting to the Director, HSE, the HSE Manager will focus on contributing to HSE policies and program design and the execution of HSE services.   LOCATION: Downtown Denver (full-time, in-office) SALARY & ANNUAL BONUS: $125,000-$150,000 Annually Eligibility for 50% STIP Bonus   SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES: Uphold the core value of HSE in the company by fostering a proactive culture by delivering programs that reinforce desired behaviors Champion and partner with our Canadian Division business leaders to ensure ongoing implementation of HSE programs (in the Calfrac HSE Management System) that adhere to Calfrac, customer and government regulations / standards Anticipate and appropriately manage the business impact required to effect desired improvement in HSE practices Ensure consistent application of standards through delivery of HSE policy, procedure and practice training as well as through the delivery of very complex HSE projects Continuously develop and evaluate new HSE processes to meet divisional objectives Assist operations/management in reducing injuries and losses to employees and property by providing technical assistance and HSE oversight throughout the Division Interface with internal customers and management teams to provide status updates and coaching as needed Capture and share HSE learning and information between regional sites and external organizations Support the Division in conducting HSE audits, advise on findings and facilitate action planning that results in continuous improvement Conduct and/or participate in accident and incident investigations as and when needed by Operations. This includes ensuring that root causes and contributing factors have been captured and corrective actions are proposed and implemented Engage in proactive hazard identification and coordinate action planning to bring resolution and closure to risk assessment findings Deliver complex regulatory reporting and written programs required by regulatory authorities Regularly consolidate and report HSE statistics and Key Performance Indicators Participate in HSE Incident Prevention Team (IPT) meetings As the company’s representative, acts as a key resource to Calfrac’s (external) customers and associated contractor organizations Responsible for the (HSE aspects) of qualification and management of Calfrac’s contractors KEY ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES: A highly energetic, self-starter with the ability to work in a fast paced environment that is deadline driven and centered on providing quality information Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and verbal and written communication skills Strong leadership, mentoring and delegation skills Comfortable in a time-sensitive, project driven, team based environment Ability to challenge assumptions backed by a strong business acumen and strong interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills with a customer service orientation and an ability to work well with all levels of the organization Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities with a high attention to detail Able to thrive in a rapidly changing environment Team player with the ability to conduct work with utmost confidentiality and professionalism Works and inspires others to work at high performance levels Demonstrated success with leading the creation of business process and improvement initiatives Thorough knowledge of business analysis, change management, and project management, with the ability to identify/define gaps, risks and requirements and produce supporting documentation Ability to generate reports with a high attention to detail Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint is essential   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor degree in a related discipline 15+ years experience in the field of Health, Safety and Environment, with progressively increasing levels of HSE management responsibility Experience leading HSE staff teams in a multi-location environment Professional designation required in a recognized safety or environmental association   This position description represents an overview of the position and is not designed to cover all duties or requirements of the role.
