Role Overview and Responsibilities

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.  ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., "Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

 

The HSE Program Manager serves as the site lead for all aspects related to Health, Safety and the Environment. The essential duties of the role include:

 

Key Responsibilities

Develops, implements and monitors programs and procedures to ensure total compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations as well as Company HSE StandardsActs as ISO14001 Environmental Management Representative and is responsible for maintaining certificationInvestigates all incidents/injuries, maintains statistics and makes recommendations for correction of problem areasAssists in communicating hazard control information and evaluates effectiveness of the controlsPerforms regular safety audits throughout the facility reporting results and following up to ensure discrepancies are correctedActs as primary contact in dealing with regulatory agencies, and trains management to understand HSE regulations and standards including, but not limited to, OSHA, TCEQ, EPA, IATA, DOT and ISO14001Develops training materials and conducts HSE training; including, but not limited to, new hire orientation, SDS utilizationServes as chair for site HSE committeeInspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risksDevelops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspectionsDevelops health and safety procedures for all areas of the companyPrepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topicsDrafts inspection reports to document inspection findingsEnsures that safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when neededMaintains records of employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as requiredWorks with the Regional Lead to share best practice learnings and help company alignment Qualifications, Skills and Attributes Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

 Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or Environmental related field, preferred5+ years experience in Environmental Health and Safety systems in a manufacturing environment

Required Skills/Abilities:

Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policiesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailProficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspectionsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
