INTRODUCTION:

 

We are seeking an HSE Supervisor who is responsible to implement and support processes, procedures, and plans as required by the Health, Safety and Environment program. This individual will work to prevent injuries and environmental accidents by identifying hazards, providing safe tools, training employees on safe working methods, inspecting the work sites and correcting unsafe actions.

 

In this position, you will report to the HSE Manager.

 

This position is located in Mesa, AZ. This role may involve up to 80% of travel to customer sites and other internal Metso sites for training/meetings.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

 

Work with regional HSE manager to develop and implement an HSE program across our field services projects. Participate in developing a good safety culture. Implement and maintain appropriate preventative procedures to minimize risk to all employees. Prepare reports that detail current HSE activity. Investigate, report, follow up and maintain all necessary paperwork for all accidents/incidents. Update emergency plan and prepare regular safety exercises. Work with regional management to ensure that all local and customer safety requirements are met. Understand customer requirements and offer solutions which produce the most appropriate result for the customer and Metso. Help customers understand current issues and needs and keep them abreast of current policies and programs. Maintain positive customer relations. Conduct regular HSE Field services audits and inspections. Regularly evaluate contractors and suppliers from the point of view of safety, health and environment. Analyses operational risks prior to work commencing. Analyses all accidents and incidents to work towards a zero-accident target.

 

WHO YOU ARE:

 

Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or related field. OSHA/NIOSH Certifications coupled with years of experiences will be considered Candidates with a background in HSE, particularly in areas like Field/Site services, Mining, Construction & demolition, engineering, or working with large machinery, are valued. Good knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations Capabilities to provide direction and motivation. Good understanding of written and verbal English languages. Strong leadership, development and relationship building skills. Proven communications skills and understanding of customer needs. Knowledge of HSE development and trends. A good level of computer skills is essential – Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Highly motivated focused individual. Ability to work on own initiative and meet deadlines. Demonstrated skill in creating and implementing effective health, safety, and environmental strategies.
