HSEQ Supervisor

Job Description Are you passionate about health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) matters within the maritime sector? Faststream Recruitment is working with a leading maritime company to find a dedicated HSEQ Supervisor to support their fleet and shore-based operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional looking to enhance safety standards and ensure regulatory compliance in a dynamic and global industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a key point of contact for vessels and shore-based colleagues, assisting with daily HSEQ and regulatory queries. Monitor and follow up on onboard incidents, conducting investigations where necessary and sharing lessons learned to improve safety procedures. Oversee and implement safety programs aimed at preventing accidents and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Collect, analyse, and report key safety and environmental performance indicators, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Assist in planning, conducting, and following up on internal and external audits, including onboard inspections. Ensure business operations align with environmental regulations and industry best practices. Gather and report emissions data and other environmental impact metrics. Organize and deliver HSEQ training programs for vessel and office personnel. Participate in officers’ conferences and contribute to emergency response training and exercises. Stay up to date with maritime regulations and implement necessary updates to company procedures. Support contract reviews and customer reporting on HSEQ matters. Assist in maintaining compliance with ISO certifications and other regulatory frameworks.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HSE, Quality Management, Maritime Studies, or a related field. Alternatively, a minimum of three years of seagoing or relevant maritime experience. Strong understanding of international maritime regulations (IMO, Class, Flag) and industry HSEQ requirements (IMCA, GWO, OCIMF). Preferable knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001). Hands-on experience with shipboard QMS/SMS systems. Training or experience in incident investigation and risk assessment. Familiarity with data collection and reporting on safety and environmental performance metrics. Experience in managing internal and external audits; lead auditor certification is advantageous. Proficiency in office software (Excel, Word) and knowledge of industry-related tools (PowerBI) is a plus.
