JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the HTM Manager, the role of the HTM Biomedical Sterilization Specialist is to provide preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and installation support on various mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic units located in hospital Sterile Services Department and Operating Environments - Equipment will include Steam Sterilizers, Washer Disinfectors, Ultrasonic Cleaners, and Low Temperature Sterilizers, along with other Biomedical equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
\n\nPerform preventative and corrective maintenance required on assigned assets and related equipment - e.g. disassembling, replacing, or repairing defective parts; reassembling as required; troubleshooting, adjusting/calibrating by using standard and specialized tools.\nAbility to troubleshoot, repair, or refurbish standard and special purpose equipment and systems components.\nPerform installations, regular maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on assigned medical equipment to ensure their proper operation and function.\nPerform planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections as assigned.\nPerform administrative duties as assigned to ensure effective planning, utilization, and required paperwork completion. This includes but is not limited to: communicating schedule changes to the HTM Manager; complete service reports and activities after completing service event, and maintain tools and parts inventory.\nDevelop and maintain effective, communicative relationships with customers, managers. \nCommunicate activities to customers include scheduling of Preventive Maintenance and estimated time of arrival for unscheduled work. \nUtilize provided product and industry knowledge to assure customer’s expectations of service are exceeded. \nRespond to routine customer and sales questions regarding equipment operation and performance or direct questions straight to more experienced colleagues. \nMaintain courteous, smart, and professional demeanor when working with staff, vendors, management, and co-workers.\nPeriodically travels to other Baylor facilities to assist with scheduled and unscheduled service activities.\nAbility to participate in on-call rotation. \n\nKEY SUCCESS FACTORS
\n\n5 years of general biomedical experience or related field is required.\n2 years of sterilization experience preferred.\nAbility to solve complex mechanical/system problems utilizing technical manuals, publications, and technical support.\nKnowledge of Healthcare standards is essential.\nApplicant’s knowledge of industrial controls, and central processing systems is advantageous.

QUALIFICATIONS
\n\nEDUCATION - Associate's Degree or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification\nEXPERIENCE - 5 years of experience\nCERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -\n\nDrivers License (TXDL): If moving from out of state must obtain valid TX DL within 90 days of hire.\n\n\n
