HTST Filler Operator

The Filler Operator has a primary responsibility to run and maintain fillers and other related equipment. (S)he operates continuous flow equipment to process milk, cream, and other beverage products, following specified methods and formulas. (S)he is responsible for quality, food safety and product specifications.

\n

Essential Duties:

\n\nClean, set-up, operate and monitor equipment of the production line.\nOperate ingredients distribution feeder.\nComplete scheduled quality checks.\nMonitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of product.\nAdjust filler timing and filling as needed.\nTroubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.\nEnsure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced.\nPerform filler and filler line changeovers\nComplete cleaning checklist once line has completed run.\nPrepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed.\nMaintain communication with other departments, management and associates and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.\nAnalyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot while assisting in identifying opportunities to improve processes. \nResponsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.\nReport any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.\nEnsure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP’s.\nFollow Quality Assurance standards and collect required samples, as needed, for Quality Assurance testing.\nEnsure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information.\nFollow all required work safe practices. This would include compliance of Good Manufacturing Practices, wearing required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\n

Qualifications:

\n\nHigh school diploma or GED preferred\n3+ months experience in manufacturing, dairy or another related field preferred \nAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.\nFluency in English; speak, read and write\nAbility to work in a cold and wet environment for prolonged periods of time \nMust be able to work in various temperature-controlled zones ranging from cold to hot\nDemonstrated a mechanical aptitude and can work and maneuver in tight and awkward areas and positions\nAbility to operate equipment at recommended speeds and communicate mechanical and operational defects as they arise. \nMust be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.\nMust be able to frequently reach up to 31-77 inches. \n\n

\n\nRegularly stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls\nRegularly reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl\nRegularly taste or smell milk-based product\nOccasionally sit and occasionally climb ladders or work on a platform\nRegularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds \n\n
