THE HUALĀLAI CLUB CATERING MANAGER  

The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is looking for a Club Catering Manager who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. Our Club Catering Manager has the opportunity to shape our member/guest experience by providing exceptional knowledge of the Club/Resort and exemplifying the Golden Rule in each interaction. Work authorization required. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Our Catering Manager is a pillar of our team, assisting in all Club outlets.  

Assists members and Department Heads with their event planning needs.  Will promote the club’s facilities for private banquets, and other member-related activities. Our Catering Manager will also track volume of leads sent to Catering while continuing to solicit member contributions and participation in events.   

Engages with membership to thoughtfully plan, create, and market new member events.  

Develops BEO’s for and assists with administrative and operational aspects of preparing and serving events.  Work with Four Seasons catering, Club and Four Seasons food & beverage, culinary and other departments to ensure that the Members’ expectations are met and exceeded.  

Communicates information with all relevant departments to ensure events are executed smoothly. Utilizes available and appropriate resources to maintain and promote business.   

Maintains correspondence with internal department heads to determine catering needs and event promotion for Club events throughout the year.  

Keeps the event calendar up-to-date and maintains Catering software and program information.   

Informed of current trends within the industry, participates in professional organizations and recommends appropriate actions that benefit the long-term well-being of the department and The Hualalai Club.   

Takes ownership in keeping accurate BEO’s for each event.  

Assists in arranging all Club event needs, including but not limited to, decorations, flowers, linen, rental equipment, staging, entertainment, menu cards, and audio-visual needs for private events, club events or special dining room requests.  

Plans, promotes, and generates enthusiasm and interest for the Club’s diverse social programs.  

Present to oversee the greeting and serving of members for both private and Club events.  

Assist with Club Banquet event set up and breakdowns.  

Inspects finished arrangements.  

Contributes to member private event revenue growth opportunities and ensures timely, accurate invoice processing, banquet billing, Club event P/L management, recap notes and arranges prompt vendor payment for all events.   

Handles event inquiries with care and is attentive to details that go into a successful event.  

Acts as a liaison between Club and members; provides catering guidelines, menus, directions, photos, etc. to members.  

Analyses functions to determine future needs and to implement necessary changes for increased quality. Compile data to track event outcomes and record event recaps.   

Creates room layout diagrams containing banquet item placement and related function details.  

Assists in maintaining club’s master calendar.   

Performs special projects as assigned.  

Anticipates member/guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.  

Attends staff meetings.  

Shows creativity in programming as defined by new event attendance  

Club Event P/L Management with delivery of breakeven goal  

Development of Club policy, procedures and rules for member private events at Club.  

Increase number of events sold of 25 and under (handled by club).

WHAT TO BRING 

Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States 

Weekend & Holiday availability required   

Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States  

5+ years quality experience in luxury catering sales in a private club or similar upscale environment.    

Demonstrated background of service excellence. Personable, enthusiastic, kind, detail oriented, self-motivated and a team player.    

Strong working knowledge of food and beverage with the ability to speak confidently in menu planning and selection.   

Firm grasp of catering software and ability to use various related and basic software programs.   

Experience in budgeting and sales forecasting.   

Eager to learn and take pride in themselves and their job performance.  

A hands on approach is essential.  

Maintains a positive attitude and highly organized self-starter.  

Four-year degree preferred, degree in Hospitality a plus.
