Job Description:At Regions, the Capital Markets Agency Underwriting Associate works within the Real Estate Capital Markets Project Finance Group (RECMPF) to complete financial analysis and borrower due diligence and helps coordinate loan closings.
The RECMPF Group is housed within the Capital Markets Group of Regions Bank and provides client-specific off-balance sheet financing solutions through its various Agency Products – Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintains a current and comprehensive knowledge of Lending Program Guidelines (keep)Conducts in-depth review of sponsor/guarantor financials, including balance sheets, income statements, tax returns and real estate schedulesAnalyzes, interprets, and helps underwrite real estate transactions in compliance with respective agency guidelinesProblem-solves and exercises independent judgment while effectively identifying and mitigating transactional risksOrganizes and prioritizes projects; complete multiple tasks on scheduleCommunicates with third parties and review reports such as appraisals, market studies, engineering reports, and project capital needs assessmentsEnsures written communication between the company, agency, and the borrower is completed in a timely mannerCoordinates with closing and provide, prepare, and/or submit standardized agency correspondence and formsDevelops and maintains strong relationships by presenting a professional, courteous image when interacting with customers, agency, coworkers, management, and other stakeholdersThis position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field and three (3) years of commercial real estate lending and/or equity investment experience with a bank, brokerage firm, insurance company, pension fund or private equity firm will substitute ORA high school degree and Seven (7) years of commercial real estate lending and/or equity investment experience with a bank, brokerage firm, insurance company, pension fund or private equity firm will substitutePreferences
