HUD Specialist
Responsibilities Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about ensuring compliance excellence? As a HUD Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely completion of essential HUD compliance tasks across multiple properties. Working closely with property-level teams, regional and corporate operations, and compliance professionals, you will be responsible for managing a variety of critical duties, including HAP voucher submissions, reconciliations, HUD gross rent changes, repayment agreements, special claim processing, and tracking of HUD Annual Recertification. In this role, you will report to the Director of HUD Operations and collaborate with a skilled team to ensure compliance accuracy and efficiency across all assigned sites. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Track, generate, review, transmit, reconcile, and post monthly HAP vouchers for payments for an assigned portfolio. Collaborate with RA operations and compliance teams to resolve HUD certification and voucher discrepancies. Research TRACS Compliance Percentage discrepancies and work with Contract Administrators to correct issues. Retrieve iMAX errors and correct them for the next applicable voucher. Track, enter, and report all HUD Gross Rent Changes. Audit, troubleshoot, and correct prepaid and delinquent subsidy sub-journal discrepancies in coordination with the Contract Administrator. Process all HUD repayment agreements, including confirming misreporting periods, creating and correcting repay certifications, generating repayment schedules, and ensuring accurate reporting and payment allocation. Monitor and report the completion status of HUD annual recertifications to operations and compliance teams. Manage Pass-Through Leases during HUD property disasters, including certifications for offline units and coordinating with the operations team on mitigation efforts. Process, submit, and report all Special Claims for the assigned portfolio. Ability to absorb additional duties as needed for multiple sites, including EIV compliance efforts and special claims processing. COMPENSATION RANGE $85K - $100K per year Plus annual performance bonus Compensation for this position is dependent on a variety of factors, including individual qualifications and geographical location. The range provided is intended to offer a general guideline and may vary based on these factors. Final compensation offers will be determined based on a comprehensive assessment of the candidate's background and the specific requirements of the role. #RMC #AFFEASTCTMA Qualifications WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR 3+ years’ experience performing HUD HAP/TRACS/voucher submissions for multiple properties. 3+ years’ experience with RealPage/OneSite or similar software. Knowledge of 202D MAT (Monthly Activity Transmission) Guide. Excellent communication, time management, and collaborative skills required. Working knowledge of HUD certifications, HUD repayment agreements, special claims preferred. COS, CPO and/or similarly regarded HUD compliance certification, TCS, HCCP and/or similarly regarded tax credit certification desired, but not required. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
