THE EMPLOYEE RELATIONS (ER) TEAM
The Employee Relations team, which is part of the Human Capital Management division, is dedicated to advising and coaching managers and employees on all aspects of the employment relationship. Working with managers and employees to prevent, advise and resolve challenging and complex workplace situations, the ER Advisor will work to protect and support the firm's culture in accordance with firm policies, our business principles, and applicable legal standards. The work is invariably of a sensitive nature and requires a unique combination of skills to deliver workable solutions on a diverse range of issues.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
Handle HR investigations to confirm issues are solved in adherence to policies.Senior contact for disciplinary actions, escalations & issue remediation. Provide advice to managers regarding all aspects of the employment relationship, including performance management, disciplinary actions, terminations, and business restructurings. Investigate allegations of unfair or unlawful treatment and/or inappropriate behavior. Counsel individual employees regarding problems in the office and advising on health and personal issues that may impact work. Oversee adherence to firm policies regarding, among others, use of firm resources including e-mail and Internet access, protection of confidential information, etc. Oversee all terminations and implementation of severance policy. Assist in formulating, interpreting, and communicating policies that pertain to employee relations issues. Conduct training programs to educate employees about firm policies regarding employee relations issues. Liaise with internal and external legal counsel as necessary to resolve employee issues.Stabilize, motivate, bind teams create and uphold strong Goldman Sachs culture.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Highly motivated HR professional or Employment Lawyer, with a solid understanding of employment issues and a proven track record of the following:
9+ years of relevant work experience in HR and Employee RelationsManaging complex issues, identifying potential risk, and driving resolutionLeveraging analytical, teamwork and project management skills to undertake thorough investigations.Ability to develop and build relationships at all levels, with a proven track record of acting in an advisory capacity.Developing and building effective relationships at all levels to advise and influence effectively.Bringing groups with diverse views/priorities to a common resolution through use of strong negotiation and facilitation skillsApproaching issues strategically; anticipating consequences and navigating around unforeseen obstaclesListening actively and thinking creatively to deliver commercially pragmatic solutions and resolve conflicts.Ability to demonstrate approachability and empathy so that employees are comfortable raising concerns.
