Human Factors Engineer

Work with Vehicle Engineering to develop and approve designs in accordance with end-user requirements, attribute targets, corporate requirements, service, and assembly. Research and conduct clinics to assess usability of various Human Machine Interface (“HMI”) features. Perform validation of UI designs of Ford and Lincoln vehicles for usability and user support. Utilize production intent prototypes to evaluate UI features including instrument cluster, steering wheel, center-stack infotainment structures. Provide input for and approve graphics designs for controls and displays. Human Factors Engineer positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, MI). **You'll have...** + Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field + 4 years of experience in the position offered or 4 years of experience applying human factors engineering principles in designing automotive interiors + 4 years of experience evaluating and creating 3D component and interior data using CATIA + 3 years of experience: utilizing Human Factors modeling software JACK and RAMSIS + 3 years of experience evaluating digital Human Machine Interface (HMI) assets using Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator + 3 years of experience developing rapid prototypes for physical evaluations + Employee reports to office in Dearborn, MI. Position may work from home, but must live within commuting distance of stated office. + Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently. We are offering a salary of $80,904 to $151,073 per year.
