Job Summary:

Provides Human Resources support to all NY locations and provides services related to all terms of employment, including recruitment, benefit administration, unemployment, salary guidelines, worker’s compensation, union activities and requirements, educational training, safety, etc. Recommends and initiates programs and projects as directed by the HR Business Partner and the HR Leadership team. May require administrative assistance for other Sealing locations as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist HRBP with various recruitment processes for all hourly and salary employees, including consulting with the hiring manager on schedules, setting up job requisitions, and coordinating interviews with hiring manager and TA representative. Responsible for new employee onboarding; including processing hire in HRIS system, setting up orientation meetings with various participants, preparing new hire paperwork, processing welcome package, ensure workspace is ready and processing access badges. Shares responsibility for providing full orientation for new hires with HR Business Partner.Maintains all employee personnel records for the operation (s) according to internal practices, SOX compliance and legal requirements. Acts as an advisor to supervisory personnel on employee-related matters (i.e., recruitment, hiring, leaves of absence, attendance, and disciplinary actions). Confers with HR Business Partner on matters of significance.Processes all terminations and paperwork appropriately and timely. Monitors all unemployment claims for accuracy.Responsible for maintaining compliance with NYS Shared Work plan and for assisting employees with weekly claims and questions.Ensures compliance at local level with major state and federal employment and labor laws (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, Sexual Harassment, etc.). Maintains all systems, records, and transactions to comply with regulatory reporting including HIPAA, SOX.Conduct training on the current HRIS system. Assist managers and employees with system questions.Assists HR Business Partner with employee training for Human Resource related subjects such as interviewing and supervisory skills, Human Resource policies, etc. Maintains all training records in appropriate training management system for specified locations, including paper records. Participates in all ISO 9001 Quality audits where training records are reviewed and verified.Assists HRBP with ensuring that all company and location policies and procedures, including all union contracts are effectively communicated, supported, and administered.Leads employee engagement activities, including promoting involvement in wellness campaigns, community service collections, health bulletin boards, morale building activities such as company picnics, and retirement celebrations.Responsible for maintaining and enforcing all NY locations attendance policies, including tracking attendance and issuing correction actions as required. Conveys company benefits and along with HR Business Partner maintains all on-site benefit administration and communication, including processing benefit invoices. Maintain office files and Workers Compensation files and records. Assists with reporting claims to the workers compensation carrier. Prepare monthly OSHA hours worked for all NY locations.Maintains good employee relations by being actively involved with employee issues.Promotes harmony in the workforce through good and open communication; fair, consistent, and respectful treatment. Assist HRBP in guiding supervisors in maintaining consistent discipline and ensures all disciplinary action is administered in accordance with established company procedures.Assists with scheduling on and off-site meetings/conferences as needed and directed by HR Business Partner and Plant Manager. This may include travel arrangements, room setup and meal planning.Responsible for establishment, with assistance from HRBP, of Reasonable Suspicion program, procedure documentation, and training of all managers and supervisors in NY locations.Maintains an open dialogue with HR Business Partner on issues of importance within the operation.Some travel required.

This is an Non-Exempt position with an hourly rate of $33.66

Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate:

Must possess B.S. degree in Human Resources or related field, or an equivalent of education and experience.One to three years of Human Resources experience.Must have knowledge of employment laws and regulatory issues (i.e., ADA, FMLA, EEO, AAP, etc.)Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office products.Experience with Human Resource Information SystemsMust be extremely well organized and have an attention for detail.Excellent communicator and must work well with all levels of the organization.The ability to handle and maintain confidentiality is needed for this position as well as to be a trusted member of the HR department.

Additional Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Preferred:

PHR Certification preferred. Good working knowledge of HRIS systems, specifically Workday. Prior experience recruiting candidates.Experience working in a manufacturing operation.Prior experience working in a union environment.
