Human Resources Assistant

We consider a number of factors when making individual compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, and other business needs.  This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive program, subject to the rule governing the program.  Position Summary: The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing human resource support. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: Assists with recruiting talent; maintains online application system, schedules interviews, maintains job files for open and closed positions Assists with researching, developing and administering training programs across various departments Conducts new hire orientation Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions Maintains employee, job requisition, I-9, worker’s compensation, and all other human resources files Coordinates employee events and recognition programs Keeps track of open workers compensation claims by maintaining files, tracking follow-up appointments and communicating updated workability information Maintains safety documentation for incidents and investigations; keeps management informed of follow-up needed Assists in responding to Unemployment mailings Ensures compliance of all federal, state and local employment laws and regulations Facilitates a positive work environment through existing employee programs as well as assisting in implementation of new programs and ideas to foster a great working environment Devotes the necessary time on the floor to stay connected to business processes and the employees Provide administrative support to General Manager office Other projects or duties as assigned Qualifications Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field and 0-1+ years of related experience OR High School Diploma and 3+ years of experience in an administrative support role Fully Bilingual (English/Spanish) Proficient with all Microsoft Office Suites Self-motivated individual with great initiative and ability to work independently Ability to interact with a host of different personalities Highly organized, detail orientated and capable of multi-tasking Ability to take ownership and be accountable for issue resolution and general customer satisfaction This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test Preferred Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field Professional in Human Resources certification Foodservice/ Distribution experience Physical Demands and Work Environment: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
