HOW YOU WILL MAKE THIS A GREAT PLACE TO WORK
The Human Resources Assistant will primarily be responsible for union new-hire union orientation, and employee record-keeping (HRIS and employee files). The HR Assistant will also provide administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources department. The position will be required to start at 6:30 am at least two days a week.
SOME OF WHAT WE ENTRUST YOU TO DO
+ Processes union new hire employee onboarding, including the onboarding summary, collection of documents, file management, and data entry into applicable systems.
+ Complete Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files, including monthly and annual audits.
+ Conduct and review pre-employment background checks for all union employees.
+ File Chain of Custody Forms and drug test result for all union pre-employment and random drug tests. Advise HR Manager and HR Advisor of positive results.
+ Assist in the manpower request tracking process with open and filled requests.
+ Assist in filing all employee documents sent to HR from various departments.
+ Conduct union new hire follow up phone calls, after employees have successfully completed their onboarding process.
+ Communicate JATC correspondence from the JATC to the appropriate employee and supervisor.
+ Maintain proper record keeping of employment files to ensure confidentiality.
+ Complete Department of Transportation verification of employment for all DOT regulated employees.
+ Support the Human Resources team across HR functions and processes.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (Outlook, Word, Excel)
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a concise, professional, and timely manner.
+ Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
+ Critical thinking skills – using logic to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
+ Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn HRIS and other Human Resources systems.
+ Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record
YOUR PRIOR EXPERIENCE
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Minimum 2 years of administrative experience.
COMPETITIVE PACKAGE
The pay range for the HR Assistant in Paso Robles, CA is $25 to $27 hourly.
This pay range is our competitive compensation at the time of this job posting. Your pay will be determined based on a number of factors, such as experience, education, skills, and applicable knowledge.
