HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MIL)
Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) in the Retirements Branch of NAVY PERSONNEL COMMAND. Responsibilities You will gather and review documentation and data, and research and interpret past and current regulations, policies and precedent decisions pertinent to work assignments. You will communicate with military members to resolve procedural issues and provide advice on retirements. You will prepare retirement authorization documents and statements of service to correct or begin retired/retainer pay accounts. You will coordinate with the National Personnel Records Center (NRPC), Navy Personnel Command (PERS-9), reserve units, local commands and service members to obtain documentation to correct erroneous records. You will utilize military human resource systems such as Enterprise Record Client (E-Client), and Electronic Service Record (ESR) to review and retrieve documentation and information to determine retirement eligibility and complete authorizations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying knowledge of human resource rules, processes and procedures to provide administrative assistance and advice to military service members; 2) Preparing, reviewing for accuracy and processing personnel documents (i.e. retirement documents); 3) Developing solutions for upper management and service members on personnel issues; and 4) Utilizing human resources information systems and automated personnel support system databases to query, retrieve, monitor, input and extract personnel information.
