Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) in the of PERSONNEL PERFORMANCE AND TRANSITION DIVISION (PERS-83) NAVY PERSONNEL COMMAND. Responsibilities You will manage military personnel actions (e.g., awards, promotions, schools assignments, retirements, separations, recruitment, retention) in support of a military personnel program You will respond to military personnel inquiries by gathering data and interpreting information. You will enter and maintain data in personnel records. You will extract data from a human resources information system for use in reports. You will manage applicant data using software programs (e.g., Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, or similar software application). You will collaborate with customers to identify and obtain missing personnel documents. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following.1) Maintaining military service records in accordance with personnel policies, rules and regulations; 2) Utilizing automated systems and databases to enter and retrieve data, answer queries and prepare reports for military personnel actions; 3) Applying administrative functions to gather, consolidate, and evaluate information and recommend solutions; and 4) Advising military members on personnel procedures to ensure all required documentation is accurate and complete. WORK ENVIRONMENT - Work is primarily done in areas that are adequately lighted and climate controlled and where normal safety precautions for an office practiced. The work environment involves everyday risk or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices and meeting rooms.
