Summary Joining the Secret Service, Office of Human Resources, Classification & Position Management Division (CPM), will allow you to afford the opportunity to render administration duties and responsibilities to the Division's various Branch programs. Responsibilities The selectee will serve as an Human Resources Assistant (Office Automation) in the Office of Human Resources, Classification and Position Management Division. Typical work assignments include: Maintaining automated system of program-specific data to track suspense's on items such as project milestones, progress reports, funding accomplishments, compliance strategies, workload data, etc. Providing administrative support and limited technical assistance to Classification and Position Management staff members on a variety of basic internal procedures, instructions, and guidance. Processing incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication. Collecting, compiling, and/or tracking of HR, Classification and Position Management and Administratively Uncontrollable Overtime (AUO) program data and statistical information in support of the program. This Human Resources Assistant (Office Automation) position starts at a salary of $57,164.00, GS - 07 step 1, with potential to $74,318.00 GS-07 step 10. Qualifications To be considered qualified for this position you must meet the following qualification requirements for the respective grade level in which you are applying. You qualify for the GS-7 level (starting salary $57,164.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level performing duties such as: Utilizing a variety of software programs and automation equipment to perform office support duties, including tracking and compiling information, receiving and retrieving data; review documents for accuracy and completeness. Applying standard rules and regulations, procedures, and operations to provide administrative or human resources support. Constructing and managing files, data logs, and answering customer inquiries. Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current competitive service employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50, "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility.
