Human Resources Benefits and Payroll Manager
**Description** **Essential Duties** · Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures · Administer Benefits, Payroll and Compensation programs through subordinate staff, provide guidelines, and develop SOP's · Manages and evaluates both the compensation and benefits functions for the company. · Participate in the design of plans, salaries and incentives, job evaluation, performance appraisal, life and health insurance, disability and 401K program. · Manage return to work program and employee injuries, collaborating with Safety, Management and employees · Investigate and resolve benefit and payroll issues in accordance with company policy, regulations and business needs · Partner with the Training & Development Department to deliver leader and employee training · Act as a corporate liaison for HR related projects and functions · Stay abreast of all changing benefit, payroll and regulatory information and communicate these changes to appropriate personnel · Provide confidential support/counseling to employees as needed · Demonstrate an understanding of the vision, purpose and strategy of the Company and how this aligns with HR strategy · Build credible relationships with key management, business stakeholders and peers by using HR expertise to add value to the business · Provide guidance to managers on how to effectively manage change within the organization, such as department reorganizations, leadership changes, and role restructuring · Participate on committees and special projects and seek additional responsibilities · Respond to employee inquiries, issues and problems relating to benefits, leaves of absence, payroll, compensation and ensures timely and appropriate action · Prepare reports and information for both internal and external stakeholders · Supervise, recruit, retain, mentor, train, and recognize direct reports. Conduct performance appraisals and make wage recommendations. · Other work-related duties. **Qualifications** · Bachelor's degree in in human resources or a related field and five years of human resource experience; or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. · Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification preferred or other related benefits certification · Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred · SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification preferred. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** · Comprehensive knowledge of Benefit and Payroll principles, practices and governing laws · Proficient in the use of HRIS · Excellent organizational skills · Proficient with MS Office Suite including Excel, Word and Outlook · Demonstrated problem solving skills · Exceptional verbal, listening and written communication skills · Ability and experience to foster teamwork and lead a goal-oriented team · Ability to multi-task and work under pressure while meeting strict deadlines · Must be able to prioritize daily tasks and assignments · Must work well with internal departments, vendors, and customers · Must have the ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations with customers and other employees · Takes initiative to independently resolve a variety of complex issues and non-standard problems **Leadership Competencies** · Communication: Express ideas in a clear, concise and convincing manner.
