Human Resources Business Partner

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our Boart Longyear team in 
Glendale, Arizona.  Our Human Resources Business Partner will serve as a  trusted business partner and thought leader supporting multiple teams in our Drilling Services Division. This individual will effectively represent the Boart Longyear values, our business objectives, and employee/management relationships. In this role you will serve as a key HR contact and partner to drive communication and strategy. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong foundation of Labor Relations and a demonstrated ability of process improvement in a fast-paced operation. This is a full-time permanent position. 

Responsibilities 
• Conducts weekly meetings with business partners and key stake holders 
• Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate. 
• Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, 
and policies. 
• Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and 
objective investigations. 
• Support the development of Labor Relations strategies that align with business objectives. 
• Lead investigations as needed through investigations. 
• Manage layoff and recall processes. 
• Oversee job separations, terminations and settlements. 
• Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of 
employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal 
department as needed/required. 
• Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, 
counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). 
• Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, 
and increase productivity and retention. 
• Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. 
• Provides guidance and input on workforce planning and succession planning. 
• Identifies training needs for business units and individual coaching needs. 
• Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to 
ensure training objectives are met. 

Minimum Qualifications 
• Must be authorized to work in the US 
• Must have valid Driver’s License 
• Bachelor's degree. 
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred 
• 3+ years HR experience with demonstrated track record of success. 
• Proven experience prioritizing and managing multiple assignments concurrently, performing well 
under pressure, and meeting deadlines, while ensuring acute attention to detail and accuracy. 
• Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, 
organizational diagnosis, employee and relations, diversity, performance management, and 
federal and state respective employment laws. 
• Ability to travel to the field regularly
