Program Summary
The Missiles, Aviation & Ground Systems (MAGS) Division is focused on Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and related Foreign Military Sales (FMS). MAGS delivers systems engineering and integration (SE&I), prototyping, and key technology infusions including digital engineering, autonomy, AI, cyber, and green energy. We provide services to Army aviation platforms and missile systems along with related sensors, battle command and fire control systems, ground combat systems and ground support systems.
Job Summary
KBR is seeking a highly qualified Human Resource Business Partner to support the Integrated Air & Missile Defense Operations Unit which is part of the Missiles, Aviation, and Ground Systems Division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and executing HR operations, processes, and strategies, leveraging their knowledge to streamline and optimize HR systems. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong interpersonal and technical skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) acts as an advisor to management and business leaders, aligning HR practices with overall business goals by providing expert guidance on employee relations, talent management, performance management, organizational development, and compliance, essentially bridging the gap between HR and the business to drive positive employee engagement and support organizational success; they serve as a coach, consultant, and change agent for managers and employees within their assigned operational unit.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities of an HR Business Partner:
Human Resources Support – Provides HR Generalist support to a 550-person Operations Unit (OU) spread over multiple locations, that include Huntsville, AL; Washington, DC.; Fort Bliss, TX; and White Sands Missile Range, NM.Partnership - Collaborate with business leaders to understand their business objectives and develop aligned HR strategies to achieve them. Analyze HR metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and inform decision-makingEmployee Relations – Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations and recommends appropriate courses of action. Talent Acquisition – Support the Talent Acquisition Team with all phases of the recruitment process to include, requirements identification, requisition development, compensation planning, staffing support and onboarding. Talent Management - Support an agile performance management process with quarterly check-ins, talent calibration, succession planning, and employee development initiatives. Leadership Coaching – Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g. coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).Compliance – Maintains an in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required. Training and Development - Identify training needs and deliver or coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related field.A minimum of five years of progressive experience in human resources, with at least three years of experience working in Defense Contracting. 13 years’ progressive experience with at least seven in Defense Contracting is acceptable in lieu of the degree requirement. Candidate must be a U.S. CitizenAbility to attain and maintain a security clearanceStrong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factorsExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesDemonstrated experience in designing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that support business goals and objectivesExcellent written and oral communication skills.Prepared to function in a hybrid environment with at least three days in the officeProficient in the use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint).Strong computer skills using HR applications (Workday and/or Deltek) preferredPerforms other related duties as assigned.Physical Requirements:
